How Does It Work?

  • Admins manage permissions & approvals

PRINTsprokit admin users control the type of publishing permissions they allow individual users - ranging from strict in-application use of image assets to the ability for users to upload their own images. Admin users also determine whether user-developed publications require admin user approval prior to printing or whether they can bypass the approval process.

Additionally, admin users assign individuals to groups. Designers then prepare templates and assets developed for those specific groups.

When end users complete projects, they have the ability to alert admin users with PRINTsprokit’s internal communication tool that notifies admin users of projects waiting for approval. Admin users can approve or require revisions to any project.

  • Designers prepare templates

PRINTsprokit TourDesigners create branded backgrounds for desired publication formats – postcards, brochures, fliers, posters, etc. on their desktop design environment (Adobe, Quark, etc.) and save and upload .jpg or .png files of those backgrounds to PRINTsprokit.

Within PRINTsprokit, designers select an empty layout, choose the group for which it is designed, and drag and drop the prepared background onto the empty layout, thus creating the beginning of a template. They then add hotspots where users can add text and images.

Once saved, the template is ready for end users.

  • End users create publications

End users begin projects by selecting the desired template of their publication. Only templates provided by the designers and allowed by admin users are visible. End users then choose the template design that best suits their content and copy, paste, and type text into hotspots. Additionally, image hotspots placed by the designer allow users to drag and drop images from the image library assigned to their group, or to upload images if they have the required permission.

End users can review and share a project in development via PDF, watermarked as "draft" until a project is approved. Once the project is complete, the end user submits the project for approval (if required). Upon approval, the end user can print a non-watermarked PDF of the project on an inkjet or laser printer, or send the high-resolution print PDF to a professional printer.
